YS Jagan attacked With Knife in Vizag Airport
A person claiming to be a fan of YS Jagan attacked the YSRCP chief with a knife while he was waiting in a lounge at Vishakapatnam airport. It is reported that the accused Srinivas, a native of Amalapuram in the pretext of taking selfie approached YS Jagan and attacked him with a knife used for cockfight. Jagan who suffered an injury on his left shoulder has been shifted to a hospital after first aid being done in the airport.
According to sources, Srinivas who is working as a waiter at the airport met Jagan to offer tea in the lounge. After taking a selfie with the Jagan, Srinivas asked him if the party wins 160 seats in the next elections. In the meantime, he attacked Jagan who escaped with an injury.
Jagan’s follower G Amarnadha Reddy said the attacker approached the politician on the pretext of offering him a cup of coffee. A video shot by a YSR Congress supporter showed security personnel leading Rao away and Reddy walking out of the VIP lounge surrounded by a few policemen.
Several leaders of the YSR Congress party also went to Thakur’s office, seeking immediate action. Union civil aviation minister Suresh Prabhu tweeted he was shocked by the attack on Reddy and that an investigation into the incident is underway. “Asked all agencies to investigate matter thoroughly, including @CISFHQrs. Asked secretary civil aviation to fix responsibility. I strongly condemn this cowardly attack, we will punish the guilty. Investigations are underway, started immediately,” Prabhu posted.
