Youth Congress leader and son of former Andhra Pradesh minister M Mukesh Goud, M Vikram Goud, was allegedly shot at by unidentified men at his residence in the upscale Banjara Hills area in Hyderabad early on Friday.
According to the police, the incident happened at around 3.30am at Gayatri Hills area when Goud was waiting for his wife Shipali and children inside the hall at his house to go the nearby temple to perform a puja.
The men rushed into the hall, fired at Goud and fled the spot. Shipali, who was getting ready in her bedroom upstairs, rushed down into the hall soon after hearing the gunshots and found her husband lying in a pool of blood.
With the help of the watchman and others, she immediately rushed Goud to Apollo Hospital at Jubilee Hills. He sustained bullet injuries on his right shoulder, stomach and spinal cord. The doctors removed three bullets from his body and declared him out of danger.
