Telangana Home Minister Mohamood Ali has tested positive of Covid-19 and has been admitted in a private hospital last night. About three days back Mohamood Ali underwent Corona tests and the results arrived as positive. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Apollo hospital in Hyderabad while his house has been sanitised.
Also being an Asthama patient, the family members of Mohamood Ali have admitted him in hospital before the Covid-19 tests have arrived. In this gap, the results have shown positive.
Meanwhile the authorities are likely to collect the samples of Mohamood Ali family members and test them. They might be sent to quarantine.
So far three ruling party MLAs have tested positive of the virus and now Ali becomes the first minister to fall victim.
About six of his staff including security personnel had tested positive last week.
Home minister is facing flak now on social media for attending public events like the state government’s plantation drive programme – Haritha Haaram on 25 June, after his aides tested positive. Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy and Hyderabad CP Anjani Kumar also participated with him.
While the COVID-19 tally crossed the 14,000-mark, four people died due to the virus on Sunday, taking the death toll to 247. Total 14,419 cases have been reported in Telangana so far with Hyderabad being the worst-affected district. 5172 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and have been discharged from various hospitals across the state.
The Telangana government is considering to re-impose lockdown in Hyderabad after a continuous spike in positive cases. The number of cases in the state has gone up significantly after Unlock 1.0 was announced, allowing shops, markets and eateries to open with the lifting of restrictions.
