Telangana Deputy Chief Minister T Rajaiah Sacked
Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao dropped today one of his deputies, T Rajaiah, who was looking after Health portfolio.
The dropping of Rajaiah came against the backdrop of media reports over the last few days about alleged corruption and others in his office, More over Swineflu has claimed more than 22 lives in the telangana State so far, even as the State Government has put out a high alert.
Chief Minster KCR who was reportedly sick for the last 2 days, called for a Cabinet meeting at his camp office at about 2.15 pm. It was decided at the meeting that the Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister should be dropped from the cabinet in the wake of his inept handling of swine flu spread, as also some adverse reports about his functioning.Some ministers met the Governor E S L Narasimhan and informed him about the Chief Minister’s decision.
Reports indicate that Chief Minister had received an intelligence report, which has pointed a finger at T Rajaiah or his involvement with a private company in respect of purchase of 290 ambulances.
Chief Minister KCR action today is seen as a loud message against corruption and inaction.
