PPA Between Telangana and Chhattisgarh Government
The Telangana government entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) on Tuesday with Chhattisgarh government for getting 1,000 MW. The agreement will be in vogue for the next 12 years.
Southern Power Distribution company limited (spdcl) Chairman and Managing Director Raghuma reddy and Chhattisgarh Power Distribution Company (CPDC) chairman and managing director Ankit Anand exchanged this agreements in the presence of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao .
In November 2014, the Chhattisgarh government had agreed to supply 1,000 MW to Telangana state when the chief ministers of both the states met at Raipur. Following this, the power line from Wardha to Ditchpally is being laid from Chhattisgarh that is likely to be completed very soon.
K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday urged the Chhattisgarh government to supply an additional 1,000 MW to Telangana which the latter agreed in principle.
