Nayakangudem Fishermen Turn Into Saviours
A group of fishermen of Nayakangudem turned into saviours for the several bus passengers, who were trapped in the vehicle, after the bus fell into the canal on the Khammam-Hyderabad highway on Monday. 10 passengers were dead and most of them were deceased and injured who belongs to East Godavari district.
The Local fishermen woke up by the deafening noise when the private bus fell into the canal. There were 26 passengers, three crew members including two drivers from Hyderabad to Kakinada plunged into the canal in the wee hours of the day.
The Local fisherman Rambabu said that seven passengers were died on the spot and other passengers were got trapped inside the bus and screamed for help.
By hearing the noise and an injured woman yelled for help, we smashed the windowpanes of the bus, partly submerged under water, and pulled out a one-year-old baby safely, said the fisherman Ramesh and another fisherman.
That woman and 18 others including the two bus drivers survived with injuries, said another local villager.
