KTR says houses for poor by August
KTR says 50,000 houses for poor by August, he says despite of lockdown, 80% of 2BHK project works completed. The State government’s flagship 2BHK project, about 50,000 houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries by month of August.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao hass announced on wednesday, about this at a review meeting on the progress of the project. The KT Rama Rao said that the construction was launched after the plans were drawn up for 1 lakh double-bedroom houses in the city.
The government had aimed to construct 1 lakh dignity houses for the poor people in the city. These houses will be ready to occupy by Dasara Festival.
He said, about 80 percent of the construction works of the housing project was completed. He instructed the officials to complete the works pertaining to drinking water and power supply in the construction completed areas. The Minister said that the State government was according top priority to the project, with houses already allocated to beneficiaries in some areas.
When the officials brought to his notice the problems faced in procuring cement, steel and sand, KT Rama Rao asked the officials from the Municipal Administration and Housing Departments to convene a separate meeting to sort out the issue. And asked the other Ministers to take necessary actions to complete the works at other sites by Dasara.
The other officials in the meeting were Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Roads & Buildings and Housing Minister V Prashanth Reddy, Labour Minister C Malla Reddy, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and some other officials.
