Jail Charges for Drivers without licence in hyderabad
Drivers in hyderabad without a valid licence will soon be facing jail charges as hyderabad traffic police are now planning to send drivers without licence to prison.
The Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety has recently directed that action against traffic violations should invoke provisions of the MV Act proposing imprisonment.
According to the Sections 180 and 181 of the Motor Vehicles Act, the drivers caught without obtaining licences can be jailed for 3 months.
Hyderabad traffic Deputy commissioner of police AV Ranganath said that charge-sheets would be filed against drivers caught without licence and the owner for giving the vehicle to the rule violator.
Awareness programmes also are being planned in hyderabad city to be spread over various platforms that the people who are driving without obtaining a license will be jailed. Those drivers who are not carrying their licences with them can produce them later but only after paying a fine.
