Hyderabad HC orders Telangana govt to maintain status quo on APNGOs land

Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday july 7th 2014 directed the Telangana state government to maintain status quo in respect of the land allotted to the APNGOs Mutually Aided Cooperative Housing Society Ltd in Ranga Reddy district.

The judge was dealing with a petition filed by the society secretary N Chandrasekhar Reddy challenging the action of the Telangana government in resuming APNGO’s land

On the grounds of non-utilization. Though the state had allotted 189 acres of land in 2008, the society could not distribute the house sites to its members on account of a pending litigation over 90 acres. The dispute is currently pending in the Supreme Court, the petitioner said. However, we have already spent over Rs 3 crore for development and layout and allotments were already made to 1,644 employees on the remaining land, he said.
