Center Questions Telangana Government on Samagra Kutumba Survey
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has responded on the ongoing tussle over Telangana government’s proposal to conduct Telangana State Samagra Kutumba Survey.
Reacting to the various complaints from MPs, civil and political leaders, Union government has asked Telangana government employees to send a detailed report on the Survey. The report should include the objective, procedure of the survey along with the legal issues involved with it.
Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami has written a letter to government of Telangana on the issue where he pointed out various issues related to the Survey.
Mr Anil Goswami said, “Although this is a matter of State government, since Telangana is a new born state and given that it shares joint capital with AP and has a common governor, Centre could involve in the issue. If Central government receives any complaint from any civilian of the nation, it could intervene into the matter for the interests of people. Under this, we’re asking Telangana State government to give detailed report on the survey. Based on the report, Centre will make its stand on the survey.
