15% hike in stipends for all categories of medicos

The Telangana state health department has given a 15% hike in stipends for all categories of medicos including house surgeons, 3 year post graduation, 2 year PG diploma, super-speciality or dental courses in state-run medical colleges with effect from January 1, 2016.

While the highest pay bracket has gone to medicos doing super speciality courses ranging from Rs 30,418 – Rs 33,459 per month depending upon the years they have completed (earlier it used to be from Rs 26,450 – Rs 29,095), house surgeons continue to remain at the entry level with their monthly stipend hiked to Rs 12,167 from Rs 10,580.

Meanwhile, on behalf of medicos, Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association state president Dr G Srinivas expressed his gratitude to the state government for the increase in their stipend.
