After “Government Employees” and “RTC Unions,” now its the turn of “108 Ambulance Services Staff” to go on an indefinite strike in Telangana state . They are primarily demanding the management to increase their existing salaries and provide a hike similar to the increment given to govt employees. The decision to strike was taken after the union’s discussions with the officials of EMRI [Emergency Management and Research Institute].
With this strike, more than 300 Ambulance vehicles were confined to the service camps effecting the whole Telangana region. The workers union have also put forward a demand to give the jobs back to the recently removed employees and consider them as Government Employees. As none of their 15 demands were considered by the EMRI, the 108 union has asked its 1800 members to quit their duties from Wednesday night.
